Enabling change in our Society, Environment and Economy (SEE)

Urban Planning

Are you interested in creating a sustainable Canberra on a bigger scale? One of the ways that SEE-Change members do this is by participating in the urban planning process. Our work is being recognized by ACT Government agencies and we now need more people to join this important work.

In recognition of the important views we have contributed, SEE-Change was one of the community stakeholders invited by the Land Development Agency (LDA) to participate in a Community Panel for the Canberra Brickworks development. As a result of that work, the role is ongoing and we have now been invited to be part of a community consultation panel for the proposed development in Western Tuggeranong.

Joining this work is a great opportunity to apply a SEE-Change perspective on a big scale – something that is urgently needed as we start to see climate change and other systemic problems really start to impact.

You can contribute your knowledge and skills and learn more about urban development, systems thinking, and the making and application of policy and regulation. You don’t need to have formal qualifications in these areas – we’ll provide coaching and mentoring to help you. If you’re keen to contribute to this important advocacy work and willing to learn, contact Gill King at gill@sustainablejill.com or on 0407 953 959.
