Enabling change in our Society, Environment and Economy (SEE)

Tricia Van der Walt – Committee Member

Tricia has worked as a Marketer and Business Strategist for 25 years. Over the course of her career she became increasingly at odds with the challenges facing our planet. Personal measures such as significantly reducing her own consumption, a considerable amount of curb-side burglary and making her home plastic free were at odds with her professional life which regularly involved inspiring others to propagate behaviours that are neither sustainable nor responsible.

In 2017 Tricia embarked on a revised career plan to make a marked improvement on sustainable decision making. She is using her experience and knowledge of consumer behaviour to inspire policy makers and the community to drive large scale positive behavioural change. She is particularly interested in post-purchase behaviour.

Tricia has a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Management from UTS and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Macquarie University. She has served on the Board of numerous NGO’s in the areas of environmental responsibility and poverty reduction and has worked on successful sustainable programs in the areas of waste elimination, poverty reduction and revegetation.
