Transition Street – Hackett

Saturday morning at Gilruth Street had it all: live music, delicious crepes, fresh fruit and vegetables to buy and a wonderful community vibe.

Neighbours in Gilruth St, Hackett have completed the SEE-Change Transition Street program . They then used their Transition Street funding to help build a farm gate style stall which neighbours can sell and buy fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs produced in their own gardens.

Now they host regular community event such as Saturday’s crepe breakfast. It was really wonderful to see so many local people come along on Saturday and feel inspired by what this street has done.

Here is a recent media article on Gilruth St.

If you are interested in doing the Transition Street program in your neighbourhood, please check out this information and get in contact with SEE-Change.
