Talk Trash

A public talk on waste reduction and recycling at home.

So you might not think it’s the most interesting topic…. but did you know that waste-wising your home is one of the easiest, most inexpensive ways you can make a big difference to reducing green house gas emissions, conserving our natural resources and save some money at the same time … and that’s exciting!

We learnt from the experts, Iome Christa, ACTNow Waste Project Officer, and Simone Annis, Waste Management Guru.

  • Why organic waste should NOT go to land fill … what are the alternatives?
  • What exactly can and can’t be recycled in the ACT?
  • What other recycling options are available?
  • What is the best way of disposing of those old light bulbs, batteries, old chemicals, empty insect spray etc?

A booklet was produced for this talk and is available here.
