Sarah – Parliament of Youth

Sarah Dickson-Hoyle is the project officer for the Parliament of Youth (PoY) on Sustainability. The PoY is an annual one day event for school students, with the 2018 PoY to be held at the Australian National University on Monday June 4th. Students will address the question ‘What’s one action we can take to make Canberra more sustainable?’ in presentations to ACT Government Ministers.

Sarah is an ecologist and experienced science and environmental educator. She is passionate about advancing youth engagement and capacity building in sustainability and landscapes sectors, and has extensive experience coordinating youth leadership and mentoring programs at international sustainability conferences, leading volunteer teams on conservation projects throughout Australia, and conducting biodiversity assessments throughout Victoria, NSW and the ACT.

In her spare time she is usually found pottering around her veggie garden or exploring one of the many bushland reserves or mountain tracks around Canberra.
