Recycled House – Wamboin

Taking recycling and up-cycling to the extreme….

Over 30 people braved a wet and windy day to be inspired by this amazing home, build predominately out of recycled materials.

In an attempt to reduce its environmental impact, this owner-built and designed rural house has been constructed as much as possible from recycled, upcycled and reused materials.

Frank, who built the house, provided an interesting and  detailed talk about sourcing the materials and the construction.

The post and beam structure incorporates frame-work, cladding, fittings and appliances that were sourced from the tip, the tip shop, demolitions and freecycle.

While modest in proportions, the home was spacious and just gorgeous.
