Gungahlin group launched!

Lily Dempster promoting Transition Streets at the Gungahlin launch

The newly formed SEE-Change Gungahlin group was launched at the Gungahlin Community Centre on Sunday 30 October. The group joins others in Belconnen, Inner North, Inner South and Woden that are helping to progress the SEE-Change vision of communities creating a sustainable Canberra.

The launch featured an overview of SEE-Change’s work by Executive Officer Liam Lilly, an introduction to Transition Streets by Lily Dempster and videos about the success of Transition Streets in the UK and the US.

Launch attendees discussed how Gungahlin would benefit from Transition Street projects that might include community gardens along verges, better public housing, and green balconies and communal spaces in apartments.

Attendees were also invited to sign up for the SEE-Change newsletter, like the SEE-Change Facebook page and come along to the next SEE-Change Gungahlin meeting at 3pm on Sunday 27 November 2016.
