Gardening in Gungahlin

On Saturday the 21st May, 10 keen Gungahlin locals got together and enjoyed a garden tour.

The garden was a real inspiration of what can be achieved in a small space.

We saw some wonderful ideas such as miniature fruit trees, thyme hedges and a colourful mixture of vegetables, herbs and ornamentals growing happily together.

Keith Colls from Canberra City Farm was on hand to answer questions about gardening and growing food.

We also saw a commercial and homemade solar oven and shared in an afternoon tea together.

A lovely way to spend a sunny autumn afternoon!

The Gungahlin group are keen for more events in their local area – news is that a community garden may be established soon in Gungahlin.

So stay tuned for more activities and events in the Gungahlin area.
