Enabling change in our Society, Environment and Economy (SEE)

Beyond Zero Emissions

The public was educated and inspired by this SEE-Change event. The forum was comprised of a 50 minute presentation by Mark Spain, a volunteer BZE presenter and Chairperson of SEE-Change, followed by an engaged discussion and conversation. The broad coverage of the presentation was as follows:

  • Overview of the plan embodied in the BZE Reports to date, on the following topics:
    • Energy
    • Buildings
    • Transport
    • Land use
    • Industrial processes
  • Australia as a renewable energy superpower
  • An outline of how these plans work together to reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

Established in 2006, Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) is an Australian NGO that conducts research, education and planning towards implementing a zero carbon economy for Australia, to boost Australia’s economy and its citizens’ wellbeing.

For the past eight years BZE has been co-authoring the ‘Zero Carbon Australia series’ with University of Melbourne’s Energy Research Institute, with the support of a range of institution and individuals across Australia.
