Home Energy Efficiency Program

The Actsmart Home Energy Efficiency Program* assists low to moderate income earners in the ACT to reduce their energy use and manage energy bills.

The program offers all of the following free assistance to eligible households:

  • Home energy assessment and education
  • Energy saving kit and heated throw rug
  • Draught proofing of the home
  • An individualised household energy report

ACT residents should contact the energy efficiency officer to see if they are eligible for the program.

Call: 6234 7408

Text: “Book me in” to 0428 202 565

Email: energyefficiency@svdp-cg.org.au

All tenancy types are eligible, including home owners, renters, Housing ACT tenants and community housing tenants.

The energy efficiency officers will do an assessment of needs of the household to determine eligibility for other assistance.  As there is a limited number of efficient appliances available, households will be prioritised based on circumstances.

The program is an ACT Government energy efficiency initiative and is delivered by St Vincent de Paul.

*Formerly called the Outreach Energy and Water Efficiency Program.
