About Us
Welcome to SEE-Change
The 'SEE' in SEE-Change stands for Society, the Environment and the Economy.
SEE-Change is a community, not-for-profit group that aims to inspire, inform and support action to reduce Canberra's ecological footprint.
SEE-Change's organisation comprises of a central support office and a growing number of local SEE-Change groups across Canberra.
One of SEE-Change's unique features is its focus on local Canberra realities. Our activities are practical in nature and developed by our SEE-Change groups to emphasise community needs and interests in their local area.
Another special feature of SEE-Change activities include inputs by local school and tertiary students whose future is at stake. They are participating along with other volunteers in planning SEE-Change activities.
In addition, SEE-Change aims to create workable project models to be picked up by other community groups Australia-wide.
Our activities are often interspersed with social activities including dinners, dances and music.
SEE-Change also collaborates with local businesses to provide discounts and special offers to its members. For more information, visit our member resources page.
SEE-Change: The Movie
To get a feel for SEE-Change's aims and activities, have a look at our video. It's a great insight into the general flavour of our organisation, the sort of people we attract, and the kinds of events that we are part of. The work of a local film-maker, with contributions by local musicians, our video is a true community effort in support of SEE-Change.
About Local SEE-Change Groups
SEE-Change is unique in its local approach. Different groups emphasise different community needs and interests.
There are now four local groups: Belconnen, Woden, Inner North and Inner South.
Please visit Local Groups for information about our groups and their activities.
