Talk: Floods in Canberra
Talk – Floods in Canberra
Join the SEE-Change Inner South group for a talk about the history of floods in Canberra.
The talk will briefly cover the recent history of flooding in Canberra in comparison to other places in Australia and how Canberra’s ‘flash’ flooding occurs and how it might be affected by climate change.
Following this, a description of info4eco’s latest flood information product; a resource that enables people to understand flood conditions in a storm from their block all the way up to the entire upper Murrumbidgee catchment.
Finally we will discuss some of the technology breakthroughs of the last 10 years that have got us to where we are and how they could be used in understanding other environmental conditions.
