Canberra Repair Cafe

We all throw away vast amounts of stuff – even things with almost nothing wrong.  At the repair cafe, we teach each other the skills to do everyday repairs and remake stuff to give it a new lease of life and save it from landfill – from a torn seam on a shirt, or a broken garden tool, to a busted chair. It’s fun, cooperative and productive.

The Repair Cafe is a place for people with skills to work with people with broken things and to pass on the knowledge and skills of how to repair. Join us!

The Canberra Repair Cafe is just starting up and we really need people who have skills or experience with repairing household items ranging from clothes right through to furniture and basic machines. Please get in touch if you have skills or would like to learn from an experienced repairer.

For the moment, the Canberra Repair Cafe won’t be fixing electrical appliances but if you have electrical fixing skills, please get in touch!

All participants are volunteers, everyone is welcome whether you have skills, a broken item, or both. And it’s free!

Tea/coffee and light morning tea will be available for a gold coin donation.
