C3: Case Study

Justin Smyrk believes it is everyone’s responsibility to do something for a sustainable world. One thing Justin is proudly doing is offsetting his electricity use through the Community Climate Chest (C3).

A graphic artist and ATA member who works from his shared rental home in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda East, Justin started offsetting his power through C3 last  year.

“It’s something that I’d been thinking  about for several years, buying clean energy but not through a power company,” he says.

“This is perfect – exactly what I’ve been looking for.”

“C3 is really empowering for renters – you avoid the power companies and the hassles (when living in shared accommodation) of imposing your beliefs on someone else.”

Justin has found using C3 easy – he estimates his offsets on the C3 website, pays by credit card and it is done.

“This comes down to personal responsibility. We all have to do something for the environment – we can’t keep passing the buck.”

Make the switch today to C3 for your accredited GreenPower and carbon offsets. Here are the benefits:

  • It’s tax-deductible
  • It’s cheaper than other schemes
  • There are no contracts
  • There is no need to change your electricity provider
  • A portion of the proceeds goes to the ATA
  • It can be used to offset your electricity, gas, car and other travel
  • There’s clear, transparent information on sources of renewable energy .
